- January 24, 2001- Oak with 23 pts, 13 rbs in McGrady vs. Carter I. The Raps lost in double OT. Oakley was a key contributor for most of the game. However, he picked 3 quick fouls in the early 3rd quarter for a total of 5 personals. Oak still managed to stay in the game though, draining a clutch three-pointer with 30.1 seconds to play in the fourth quarter that tied the game 95-95. In the end, Oak missed a three-pointer down 2 with 20 seconds left in the 2nd OT sealed the Raps' fate.
- January 19, 2001- Already a lot of hype is being generated over the Tracy McGrady vs. Vince Carter showdown next Tuesday in Orlando. As you recall, there was supposedly some bad blood between the two cousins when T-Mac signed with the Magic. These hard feeling stemmed from comments McGrady made that he didn't like being in Vince's shadow. Now both sides seem to have patched things up, thanks to Charles Oakley. Oakley was talking with McGrady on the phone a while back, and then simply handed the phone to Carter.
- January 6, 2001- Another double-double (11 pts, 10 rbs) in a loss to the Mavs. That's now 13 on the year.
- January 3, 2001- 17 pts, 11 rbs in a win vs the Clippers. Oak vs. McInnis II was a disappointment. There was no fallout from the infamous pregame scuffle that caused Oakley to be suspended last time. Oakley and McWimpis seemed to be making a concerted effort to avoid each other. The game also featured Oakley being booed each time he touched the ball, with the game being played at the new Clip Joint... those rowdy Clipper fans. Oakley, when asked about punching McInnis a month ago, wasn't apologetic. "I guess everybody knows what type of guy he is. To me, he's a guy who always goes behind people's back and does things. He's a lowlife. I don't worry about guys like that. He had threatened me one time this summer. I don't know the guy personally, and I'm not trying to get to know him." Evidently, this mishap occurred as a result of a dispute over a woman. What else is new?
